Playtime in Palm Springs

Every so often, it's great to treat yourself to some awesome downtime. Traveling is one of those treats, and it's one I wasn't doing as often as I should.

Just before the year of 2016 came to its end, I had the opportunity to go to Palm Springs with some friends to simply hang out, unwind, unplug, and talk. After a year filled with challenges and injustices for black lives, queer lives, and colored lives; in addition to the results and aftermath of the election, this trip was just what I needed. I was able to relax, enjoy the moment, and have some fun all the while indulging in some s'mores.

For the majority of the vacation, my friends and I stayed at The Burton House Palm Springs, a luxurious and modern gemstone in the desert. Comprised of 4 bedrooms, there were more than enough space to accommodate us all. Other amenities include an entertainment room, a pool, a jacuzzi, and a grill, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed.

The experience was a breath of fresh air. Amidst all of the business, it allowed time to reflect and put things into perspective. I was able to simply let go and enjoy like without worries. For the first time in a while I felt present and able to truly appreciate the present moment.

Perhaps this should be a yearly tradition, as I cannot wait to return to relish all of the delicacies Palm Springs has to offer.
