I was born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. My parents are educational gurus, but I grew up in what I like to call a "modern farm". I lived in a 4 story home, and my father's idea of a playground was raising chickens, turkeys, goats, and pigs. We also had a lot of cats and dogs, and to top all of that off, we were 10 kids. It was a full house.
Straw hats remind me of that golden era of youth. This #ootd is dedicated to my people back home. Nou tout se peyizan, so ansanm n'ap di Peyi'm se Pa'm. [Ithamar Geffrard]
L'union fait la force.
With this look, I wanted to stick to my roots. Colors. Teal, navy, and brown in different shades and combinations. Very simply put together are the patterned v-neck sweater with the solid colored shorts. A braided belt makes it a tad bit more interesting. As I slid on my loafers, I put on my watch and straw hat to bring my peasant look to life. This story is that of how I'll always remember where I come from while I focus on where I'm heading.
N.B: No, I do not have 9 siblings, I have 2.
